March 6 2021 Inspection
Sunny, 55 degrees, slight breeze Hive #1 Double deep 10 frame. Gentle. Good population. Large cluster. No signs of hive beetles. Removed traps. Top feeder with sugar water added. Needs mite check. Hive #2 Double deep 8 frame. Reversed deeps as Queen had moved into upper chamber. Gentle. Good population. Evidence of queen. No SHB. Board feeder with sugar water added. Needs mite check. Hive#3 Deep with 2 mediums. Gentle. Good population. Drone cells observed. No mites in drone cells that were opened. Replaced shallow frames with mediums. Discarded undrawn black plastically frame. Small population of SHB, beetle trap keep in frames. Good candidate for split. Top feeder with glass jar with sugar water added. Needs mite check. Marked Q(?) Hive #4 2 deep frame deeps. Gentle. Good population. No SHB observed. Added drawn frames to deep. Good cluster. Added frame feeder with sugar water. Needs mite check. ********************************************* |

Sunny, no wind, 65 degrees
Hive #1 Top feeder empty of sugar water, strong population, alcohol mite check with 2 varroa, treated with oxalic acid vapor.
hive weight #34. Did not add sugar water.
Hive #2 Board feeder still had 3/4 sugar water. Treated with oxalic acid vapor due to mites in apiary. Weight #20.
Hive #3 Top jar feeder empty of sugar water, refilled jar Treated with oxalic acid vapor. Weight # 36.
Hive #4 Frame feeder empty, did not replenish. Alcohol mite check revealed 7 mites. Treated with oxalic acid vapor.

Sunny, no wind, 76 degrees
Strange looking drone observed today, two white eyes staring back at us. No reflection of sun, moving about normally.
Hive #1 Reversed deep. Good quantity of eggs, larvae and capped drones and capped workers. Also adult drones observed. Needs a new bottom board. Removed top feeder. Needs a SHB trap. Observed no varroa on opened drone cells. Weighs #72
Hive #2 Eggs and larvae observed. Plenty of room in 8 frame for expansion. Fed sugar water from other hive. Recommend changing to 10 frame for standardization. Weight #72
Hive #3 Removed sugar water feeder due to not taking it. New SHB trap needed. 2 developing queen cells with royal jelly noted inside (marked on frame). Need deep frames and medium frames. Should split next week. Weight #81
Hive #4 1 queen developing queen cell. Lots of drone cells, removed shallow cell with drones and replaced with new deep. Needs deep frames. Observed marked queen.
ACTION NEEDED: 2 NUCS TO COVER SPLIT, 2 DEEP HIVES, 24 DEEP FRAMES

Hive #1 Apparent swarm. No queen cells observed. Check within 10 days
Hive #2 Queen marked but poor brood pattern. Need to replace Queen. Converted to 10 frame.
Hive #3 Queen cell hatched while inspecting and disappeared into hive. Found old queen and placed her into new split.
Another QC remained in hive.
Hive #4 Marked Q observed, added deep. Replaced super frames in deep with deep frames. Used some frames for split.
