Welcome to the Burke County Beekeepers Association (BCBA) website. We hope you find it both informative and interesting. The BCBA meets monthly, at 6:30pm, on the second Tuesday at the Cooperative Extension Office, 130 Ammons Drive in Morganton. We have a different speaker every month and the public is invited to attend and, hopefully, join our association. The BCBA is a chapter of the North Carolina State Beekeepers Association.
The program for Tuesday, February 14th will be conducted by association president Robert Smith. Robert will speak on "Options for Purchasing Bees". In the upcoming month(s) many beekeepers will be making decisions on increasing their bee population or replacing winter losses. This program should review your options for purchasing.
The Burke County Beekeepers will conduct a two-day Beginning Beekeeping School on March the 4th and 11th. This school will be a two-day course. A snow date of March the 18th, should bad weather be encountered. The charge for the school will be $50.00, which will include membership in the local and North Carolina Beekeepers Association. Enrolllent in the class may be done thru the Cooperative Extension Office at phone number 828-764-9480. See more by visiting https://burke.ces.ncsu.edu/2017/01/introduction-to-beekeeping-3/.
